Brooklyn’s Parks Discovered: A Tour of the Ocean Parkway Malls

Brooklyn is home to many lovely parks, each with its own distinct personality and allure. The Ocean Parkway Malls are a stretch of open space that runs from Prospect Park to Coney Island. These are two of the most famous parks in the world. Whether you want to visit Prospect Park, Coney Island or one of the other parks, they are a must-visit location for anyone traveling through Brooklyn.

Many people know these as the bike paths, “islands” or grassy areas to walk along the Ocean Parkway.

 

Be Sure to Explore Prospect Park

Prospect Park is one of Brooklyn’s most well-known parks. This massive 585-acre park offers people a tremendous variety of activities and attractions. The park was designed by the same architects that designed Central Park in New York City.

The park includes a 90-acre meadow, a massive open area for outdoor activities. Thousands use this for sports, picnics and other events. It is one of Prospect Park’s best known features.

Prospect Park, at the end of the Ocean Parkway Mall, is also home to the the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Prospect Park Zoo.

Another well-known attraction in Brooklyn is Coney Island. This historic area is well-known for its boardwalk, amusement park attractions, and beach. It has been featured in movies, TV shows and books and stories. Coney Island is found at the southern end of the Ocean Parkway Malls., along the Ocean Parkway.

Many love Coney Island, including its vintage carnival rides, food choices and beaches. It is a bustling area in the summer, with millions of visitors each year. The Cyclone is the most famous ride – a classic wooden roller coaster which reaches speeds of 60 miles per hour.

The New York Aquarium is one of the most famous aquariums in the country. Visitors, including families, individuals and school trips, see and interact with a variety of aquatic animals. They are able to learn about the value of conservation and safeguarding the world’s oceans.

There are other parks in Brooklyn, in addition to Prospect Park and Coney Island, that tourists be sure to explore. The Shore Road Park provides beautiful views of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. The Calvert Vaux Park offers a variety of pathways, trails and fields for sports. Marine Park is an excellent place for visitors to fish, kayak and enjoy nature.
